Top 3 Places for a Photoshoot in Fuerteventura

Hi, I’m Justyna — a professional photographer from Poland, living on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura since 2014.

Even after more than 10 years here, this island continues to amaze me. Its wild beauty, unique light, and peaceful energy offer endless inspiration. Every day brings a chance to see something new — even in places I’ve been countless times. That’s what I love most about photography here: it’s not just about taking pictures, it’s about capturing the feeling of this island.

I specialize in natural, lifestyle photo sessions for travelers who want more than just selfies and snapshots. Whether you’re solo, a couple, or with family or friends, I guide you to some of the most breathtaking spots on the island — combining a relaxed shoot with a mini island adventure.

If you’re planning a trip to Fuerteventura (or Lanzarote!), or you’re simply passionate about photography, here are three of my favorite places to shoot — plus tips on when to visit them for the best light and atmosphere.

1) Corralejo Dunes – Best at Sunrise or Sunset

The golden sands and rolling dunes of Corralejo are pure magic. During sunrise or sunset, the light becomes soft and golden, creating dreamy tones that make every photo glow. These moments are perfect for capturing not just portraits, but the emotion and energy of being in nature.

With every step, the dunes reveal new compositions — textured lines in the sand, shadows playing in the curves, and the sparkling sea in the distance. A session here isn’t just about the photos — it’s an experience of peace, movement, and connection with nature.

2) Sotavento Lagoon – Visit at High Tide

You’ve probably heard about the famous Sotavento Lagoon — but did you know it only appears at certain times? The lagoon is formed by tides connected to the moon phases, so it’s not always full.

When it is, though… it looks like a Caribbean dream. Shallow turquoise waters stretch across the beach, creating a surreal landscape. It’s perfect for minimal, bright, airy photos — with reflections, soft tones, and plenty of space to move and play.

There are also several viewpoints in the area where you can admire the scenery from above. To make the most of your visit, I recommend checking the tide times in advance!

3) Sunset in El Cotillo – Best on the West Coast

One of the best things about island life? You get to see both sunrise and sunset over the ocean.

In my opinion, the most breathtaking sunsets on Fuerteventura happen in El Cotillo, on the western side of the island. The sky often turns deep orange, pink, or purple, and the light creates a warm glow that’s simply perfect for photos.

Just head to one of the nearby beaches — Playa de Los Lagos or Playa Piedra — and enjoy an unforgettable golden-hour photo session.
